Sikh community of Dubai and around the world are very much thankful to the present Ruler of Dubai, Prime Minister and Vice President of U.A.E. , His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for allowing Sikh Sangat to build 1st ever Gurdwara in the Gulf. Construction of Gurdwara is in full swing & will be opened for Sangat in 2009.

it is really a very good news, that our religion is flourished all over the world.we sikhs are really very thankful to the ruler for such an opportunity granted to sikhs in dubai.

It is very encouraging to see Dubai Sikhs getting into the Seva for a new Gurudwara Sahib.
However after watching the video I have one concern, could you please clarify the purpose of the “Function Room with a stage for weddings which overlooks the prayer hall”.
Please remember, there is no place at all for any functions to occur in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, except for a simple Anand Karaj ceremony with Gurbani Kirtan.
Also it would be great if I could share the news with other Sikhs around the world that the new Dubai Gurudwara sangat will only be taking langar in pangat form and not table/chairs.

I stay in Dubai and saw a notice in the Bur Dubai Grudwara that the Gurudwara is under constrctution. Pls clarify
this is in jebel ali dubai u can came at IBN battuta mall and from u can take a texi form there also u can ask about the cristians chruch also opend near by

There was white wash going on at Bur Dubai Gurudwara Sahib. We are not sure if it was closed for sometime, but now you can go to Gurudwara.

We are quite concerned that with times changing ahead of us some of us still cannot get out of the concept of where and how to take langar and yet travel around with every luxury.
Please let us know when the official opening of this Gurdwara would take place.

Firstly greatful to the Ruler of UAE for allowing a Gurdwara to be built on a land
previously forbidden to other faiths to practice their religon. It shows that the present
Government and its people are harmonious and respect the mix of various cultures and place worship places side by side.
The Government funding will place this icon in the midst of sky scrapers and on the route of tourist attraction in the Jabbel Ali area which is fast developing. It is likely conditions will be attached but in any case the running of the Gurdwara should be in the hands of local community with no party political and out side the influence of SGSSPC.

I personally would like to thank to each one of you being registered your self on this platform and also would like to thank to one and all behind this Guru Sewa. This is really a very good thought and move on to have a details about each other. As we all accept to this point that, particularly our religion Sikh Religion requires a lot of marketing so that more no.s of Sikh would join us and would learn about Sikhism.

For those asking about the construction progress, I was there beginning of 2010 (Jan.) and they are still just beginning. They have dug out the basement and the foundation was there and this was all. They have a small area where they have the Guru Granth Sahib so you can stop there. Not quite what I had been expecting as I heard progress was far along at my local gurdwara in Canada where they were collecting donations in Dec. 2009. It is nice they are building a gurdwara here as there are many Sikhs working in Dubai and wonderful the Sheikh provided the land and is allowing it to be built.

This Gurudwara is in Jebal ali.
According to me its just back side of Jebal ali Hospital and next to jebal ali church. The building of gurudwara is under constuction, i visit every week there.

I came to Dubai in October and drove around for 2 hours trying to find the Gurduwara. In the end we found this tiny place next to a structure where we paid our respects.
Can you tell me when the Gurudwara will be ready? Can you also advertise the address…I spoke to nearly 20 taxi drivers before I found a Punjabi one who drove us to Jebel Ali to look for it.

I have been in Dubai for two and half years, i have been watching Gurudwara s building under construction for one and half years. It will take time to complete . This is great effort.
But a lot of Sangat comes here , specially on friday .

Address for Jebel Ali gurudwara is, near Ibn Battuta Mall on Sheikh Zayed Road. If you are going from Bur dubai side, then just take the exit from near the ibn Batutta mall, and after taking the logical u turn you will reach the side of ibn battua hotel, from that side take right, after travelling some distance, take first left. There would be school on your right, you will see some telephone towers of etisalat on a small hill, go straight on that road and take right where the road ends. There’s a church and behind the church is gurudwara. It’s under construction but some area near the site is operational where kirtan happens. We have been there after taking address from a sikh bhai on this website. A piece of advise don’t give any money to anyone who comes to your home/office for asking for donation for gurudwara, whatever you want to donate, please do it at the gurudwara site by putting in the golak kept at gurudwara site. we got this advise from committee staff at the gurudwara site.

Can anyone give me an update on construction? Also, what time does the kirtan happen on a Friday? Will this happen during Ramadan as well? Does itg happen any other day also?

wgjkk wgjkf gurudwara is opend for all day from 4am to 10pm and bhog for aknand paath is mainly in beetween 5 to 6 pm after kirtan and sahej paath we hunde ne ji kadewi aa sakh de ho ji by the way our gurudwara will be open after 2 month may be on the occation of SRI GURU NANAK DEV JI`S GURU PURAB wgjkk wgjkf

Gurudwara’s opening will be on 13th jan 2012. today i met with manager (nidhan singh) of gurudwara sahib. he came in india today.

With the blessings of babji…and the esteemed cooperation of the UAE government & the Sikh community here in the UAE- – – the Grand GURDWARA JEBEL ALI HAS OFFICIALLY OPENED w.e.f 18th Jan 2012.
The Akhand Path is going on and as of today 9:30 AM – the first Kirtan was recited…..It was an amazing feeling entering the Gurdwara yesterday and finding it was easy too…
For Dubai residents – – once you are approaching from SZR Interchange #4 – take exit 59 towards Ibn Battutah Mall – take right from first R/A (Go towards Jebel Ali Hospital)…Ibn Batutah Mall and Ibn Batutah Gate Hotel is on the left hand side of this small round about….so after you take right, the road leads to another R/A – from where you have to take left…which will lead you to Jebel Ali Hospital.
After crossing JA Hospital on your right hand side – – turn right and at the moment its a muddy road of about 500m and on your right hand side – – you will see a chuch and behind it is the Gurudwara……
On Google Earth – search for the coordinates – 25″01’38-33 N and 55 06’46-07″E
